Everyone on their team is professional and kind. Dr Hirasuna was happy to answer any questions I had, and overall I had a good experience.

We have been going here for last 2 years, they are very helpful, always accommodating and friendly. Dr Hirasuna is very knowledgeable and provides all the required details of the treatment. She is the best and her entire crew is just awesome and caring!

Dr. Hirasuna is an amazing orthodontist. Kids love her and she makes the process really easy. Don’t be fooled by the upfront costs. It’s worth every penny as there will be many return visits it’ll cover depending on whatever is needed for your kid. We highly recommend her.

I only have good things to say about Dr. Hirasuna and her team. They are very kind and friendly people. I have been a patient of Dr. Hirasuna for almost 1.5 years on Invisalign and my experience has been just great! During my appointments, she responds to all my questions and concerns and she spends enough time to address each point. If I felt that I needed to extend my treatment to have more adjustments to the alignment of my teeth, she always enabled me to get more scans and trays. I feel that she is there to help me get the best experience from my treatment. She also has a very good sense of aesthetics, which made it easier for me to communicate my concerns with her. Besides, she is very kind and friendly. I totally recommend everyone having Dr. Hirasuna as their orthodontist.

My daughter has special needs. She needed an expander and braces. I was concerned that she was just not going to be able to handle it. Sr. Krista and Misty showed such incredible kindness and patience with my daughter. We turned each visit into a game and my daughter actually enjoyed going. Within a year, we were able to expand her mouth and have a beautiful smile. Thank you for such a great experience!

Dr Hirasuna and her staff are great! They are very helpful and patient with all our questions and scheduling challenges. They provide a very calm and pleasant environment for kids that are nervous about braces. They tailored their approach to our needs. Would definitely go back again and refer others to her team.

Came here for adult braces at 26 and couldn’t have chosen a better place for them! Dr. Hirasuna and her team have been incredibly kind, caring, patient, and communicative at each appointment. They really go above and beyond to make sure you’re comfortable, understand what’s going on, and get the best results possible for your teeth. Very reasonable and fair price within the San Mateo County too where everything is insanely expensive. If your dental insurance doesn’t cover ortho, Dr. Hirasuna offers interest free payment plans to help make treatment affordable. There’s also a reward system for younger children when they come to their appointments, keep up with their brushing, etc. They can earn enough points to get gift cards or toys they have on display at the office. Whether you’re in need of adult braces for yourself or your kids need braces, Dr. Hirasuna’s office is an excellent choice.

When I was looking for an orthodontist for my daughter, we had consultations with many orthodontist. Some recommended tooth extractions, while others said it wasn't necessary. I was really torn about whether my daughter should have her teeth pulled. Then we met Dr. Krista. She suggested that we first try a non-extraction plan and see how it goes before making a final decision. Since permanent teeth, once extracted, will never grow back. But if extractions become necessary later, they can be done at any time. I thought this approach was very thoughtful, so we decided to start treatment here -- and it turned out to be the best decision we could have made! During the orthodontic treatment, I was once uncertain and discussed with the doctor whether extractions were necessary. Dr. Krista patiently advised us and helped us firmly decide against extractions. My daughter didn't have any teeth removed, and she just had her braces taken off -- the final result was amazing! This orthodontic office is incredibly warm and welcoming. Every staff member -- the doctors, assistants, and front desk -- is so kind, professional, and responsible. I especially appreciate that parents are allowed to sit next to their children during treatment. It really helps ease the child's anxiety and makes communication with the doctor and assistants much easier. Dr. Krista is always patient and takes the time to answer every single question from me. We really appreciate Dr. Krista for helping my daughter keep all her healthy teeth perfectly aligned with a beautiful bite. Also, many thanks to Ana, Misty, and Emily for always being so dedicated, careful, and patient in explaining everything during my daughter's treatment. All in all, this is a clinic that truly makes you feel comfortable and confident -- highly recommended!

As soon as I walked into Orthodontist of San Mateo I felt welcomed. They gave me plenty of options and told me what was all included. Each time I walked in I felt welcomed. The Orthodontist taker pride in her work 100 percent. All the staff take the time to get to know the patient. They did an amazing job.

I had a wonderful experience having Invisalign done at Orthodontics of San Mateo! I started with an initial consultation with Dr. Hirasuna and the team. They were very transparent about the process and cost, and did not pressure me at all. The staff is incredible, everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Appointments start right on time and are incredibly efficient. Dr. Hirasuna is an excellent doctor - kind and very knowledgeable.

My husband was recommended this orthodontist by our dentist, and we are so happy to have found them! Dr. Krista Hirasuna is a kind and considerate individual, and her staff likewise follow her lead. They make a wonderful office team of ladies and I feel so comfortable whenever we come. They listen carefully to any questions we have and aren't arrogant or brush us off, ever. They also worked hard to try to accommodate our sudden need to move out-of-state in the middle of our treatment. Ana in particular is the sweetest, gentlest worker, and I really like her, especially. 😊 But the entire team is kind and helpful! They also have a robust rewards system to keep their patients accountable for self-care and visits, which we love, even as adults! Who wouldn't want to earn prizes for coming to their appointments?! We had several consultations for an expander. This was the best experience and the best price! I had made a post in a mom group asking for recommendations and this was the top recommendation and someone else said she had compared prices and it was the best price in town. There is also a points reward system for prizes that my daughter loves and helps ease her apprehension about treatment.

Very thorough, and well explained. Everyone I spoke with was kind and helpful. When treatment was discussed, there was no pressure to start and no pressure to upgrade. I was very comfortable. Will continue treatment here 🙂❤️
